I loved this movie, Kane Parsons is a visionary and I’ve never seen a movie a movie like this before. It’s scary but not in a cheap way. I’ll say it’s a very atmospheric movie and leaves a lot of the messaging and ideas to the viewer, but I like that. It makes me leave the theater questioning what stuff meant and the overall theme of the movie. Honestly, for Kane Parsons specializing in blender and VFX scenes, most of the movie was real and not through a VHS camera, which I really liked. I wouldn’t have enjoyed this if the entire film was made in Blender. The environment felt tangible and real and that made me way more immersed. Although this film is somewhat slow, it really kept me engaged and I wasn’t bored. The acting is great, the music is subtle and good, and the FUCKING cinematography was beautiful, lots of warm oranges and yellows and this film felt very distinct from anything else, similar to Friendship. Overall, I’m leaving the theater feeling really good about this movie. It satisfied me in the horror department, and it was exactly what I was expecting from a good Backrooms movie. I’d love to see what else Kane Parsons makes. 9/10
